3D printing or additive manufacturing is the construction of a three-dimensional object from a CAD model or a digital 3D model. It can be accomplished in a variety of processes in which material is deposited, joined or solidified under computer control with material being added layer-by-layer.  Additive Manufacturing materials include plastics, liquids or powder grains fused together in a dedicated computer-controlled machine.  Additive Manufacturing allows for rapid protoyping of articles for proof of concept, fit checking (depending on machine tolerancing) and even for production.

Additive Manufacturing materials include plastics, liquids and/or powder grains fused together in a dedicated computer-controlled machine, and currently the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is allowing for the fabrication / manufacturing of aircraft components through additive manufacturing within a very defined set of parameters.

APECS Engineering & Development has several of these machines from which we can rapidly prototype component parts for further enigneering analysis, fit check or other reasons.
